Womens 2nd team (The minions)
The first matches of the season have been played. And it turned out to be a very long day for those of us who were at the hall all day setting up and tidying up. The Women’s 2nd team even decided to carry on training after their own match.
If there’s anyone in the club who hasn’t met them yet, they’re the club’s happiest girls, and they’re only too happy to show it – with a lot of noise.
They’d love to have a coach, if anyone’s up for it. They train on Fridays from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm (sometimes they carry on training late into the night) and then on Sundays from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm… when there are no matches. They’ve just been promoted to Serie 1, where they’re likely to face some very evenly matched games.
A bit of bonus information: The team consists of 16–17 lovely young ladies who are happy to fight right to the end. Their battle cry is 1-2-3-FVK (Filipino Volleyball Club).
They enjoy taking part in international tournaments organised by the Filipino community across Europe (I’ve been along to Malmö and Amsterdam myself). And last weekend they were in Barcelona. They have been in London, Wien, Barcelona, Stockholm, Malmø and more
